Who can participate in the Program?
The Program is open to any accredited public, private or parochial schools grades Kindergarten through 12th Grade and home school associations, containing any class with students from Kindergarten to 12th grade, organized and operated primarily for educational purposes and have 15 or more students within the continental United States (not valid in Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico). What items can I send in for credit?
Your school will receive credit for any type of ink and toner cartridges that are not visibly damaged. You may also receive credit for qualifying small electronics, such as cell phones and MP3 players. A list of qualifying Products can be found on the Buyback Price List located at www.MySchoolRecycles.com.
Is there a limit to how many Products I can send in?
How do I order additional boxes?
Go to www.MySchoolRecycles.com and click, “My Account,” and then click “Request Free Boxes.”
What do I do if I have more than 10 boxes of empty cartridges on a pallet and need to schedule a pickup?
Go to the contact page on this site. Tell us how many pallets you have for pick up, the address for the pickup, the time of day they are available for pickup and whether you have a loading dock. We will send you all of the required documents and then we will schedule a freight carrier to pick them up.
How long does it take to process the Products I mail in?
Allow 6-8 weeks.
When will my school receive an Office Depot gift card in exchange for my recycled Products?
At the end of each month, we total the value of the items you returned and post a credit to your account. Once your account’s value exceeds $25, we will send your designated school an Office Depot gift card. Please allow 6-8 weeks for processing of the Products. Gift cards will be mailed by the 15th of each month.
Does the Office Depot gift card have an expiration date?
No expiration date or service fees apply.
How does an Office Depot gift card work?
Office Depot gift cards are redeemable solely for merchandise (which excludes any type of prepaid gift, merchandise, debit or services card) at Office Depot stores, online or by phone. Purchases will be deducted from the card amount until the value of the card reaches zero. Please see the back of the gift card for full details.
How do I check to see if my school’s Office Depot gift card has been mailed?
and enter the street number and zipcode you provided at registration.
When will my school receive its Office Depot gift card?
Your school’s card will be mailed by the 15th of the month following the month in which the qualifying Products were processed as long as the $25 threshold has been met. However, since we operate several recycling facilities, your items may be processed in multiple locations. It is possible that items you send in one box will be sorted and processed in different locations. When this happens, processing may occur in different months, resulting in multiple payments.
My school lost its Office Depot gift card. Can it be reissued?
Your school should safeguard this card and treat it like cash. We will not replace lost gift cards.
My school never received its Office Depot gift card. What do I do?
Go to the contact page and provide us with your name, email address. Let us know that you didn’t receive your card. Office Depot and Clover are not responsible for errors caused by incorrect information you provide when registering to participate in the Program.
Can my school’s Office Depot gift card be mailed to an address different from the one I supplied at registration?
No. Both your shipping supplies for recycling your Products and any Office Depot gift cards will be mailed to the school’s address provided by you as listed on www.MySchoolRecycles.com on the “My Account” page. Only one address can be associated with each program participant.
Why is my school’s Office Depot gift card amount different from what I calculated it would be?
A complete accounting of the Products you send in will be available on the www.MySchoolRecycles.com website approximately two days after we process them. We will identify any Products that are damaged or otherwise did not qualify for this Program and show them with a $0.00 value.
How is the value of each Product determined?
Each month, we publish a new Buyback Price List. You can find this under the “Tools” link. It’s important to note that the amount that will be credited to your account is the published value for your Product in effect at the time your Product are processed, not the price published at the time you sent the box via UPS.
Where can I view my account to see how many Products I’ve returned and how much my school has earned?
Login to www.MySchoolRecycles.com and click “My Account,” and then “Track Your Activity.”
How do I check to see if you have received my items?
Click the “Track Your Activity” link on the website. You will see the UPS tracking number for the items we have received.
How do I update my contact information?
Go to www.MySchoolRecycles.com and click on “My Account.”

Yes, you will be able to participate in multiple programs as long as you otherwise qualify for those programs. Recycling Rules is a not a replacement to our current Worklife Rewards or Star Teacher recycling programs. It’s an added value to our customers in the educational market, where teachers, principals, administrators, parents, and other school supporters can earn free supplies for their school.
Do the items that I return count towards my Worklife Rewards or Star Teacher Rewards?
No. This is a separate program for recycling empty ink and toner cartridges, cell phones and other small electronic devices. For more information on Worklife Rewards®, go to www.myworkliferewards.com. For more information on the Star Teacher program, please visit www.mystarteacher.com.
